    Talking Vanda (syn. Christensonia) vietnamica x Vanda denisoniana

    Just bloomed yesterday. I'm not sure if the other two buds will survive since they are turning yellow. I'm planning on pollinating the flowers. Does anyone know how many days should I wait for it to be matured and ready for pollination? Any advice is very appreciated. Thank you.

    Assalam Azizan any smell at night? in case denisoniana is dominant?

    Wassalam. I tried to smell it in the morning but no scent. I haven't tried smell it at night yet. Can't confirm about that right now because currently I'm away from home. I was lucky that it bloomed when I was home for a couple of days. I hope the flowers are still there when I'm back home.

    From my observation, it inherited a little bit of V. denisoniana lip characteristic. Based on appearance V. vietnamica is more dominant I guess.

    Below are not my photos. Just want to show the resemblance of the parents and the hybrid. Photo of the hybrid on the right provided by the grower. I did not have my own proper photo to show the lip at the moment.

    I have checked. It has a faint fragrance but I don't know if it is inherited from V. denisoniana because I have never smell one before. As for an update, just as I thought, the other two buds turned brown when I'm home. I don't know why this happened...
