It sounds like you're describing Diplocaulobium (Dcm) tentaculatum. It's a genus closely allied with Dendrobiums and this species is sometimes referred to as Dend. tentaculatum. It's a lovely flower! Is this similar to what you remember?

You probably crossed it with Dend. superbum, which is more correctly called Dend. anosmum.

Do these look like the parents? The flower on the Dcm would have been more pure white if it were a var. alba.
If this is the cross, then I'd love a couple of seedlings if you and Aaron are successful! This cross hasn't been registered yet, and those are two great species parents!
