Nice avatar, Doodle!
'The Rat' is Molly Taco's nickname. Not Cin, but her cat, Molly Taco. The black and white upside down thing who is vying with Peanut for Forum Mascot.

I've been doing alot of reading on all this flasking/medium/greenpoding stuff (btw. thanks again McJ for that e-book!) and here's a bit of what I've picked up in seedpod area:
When the pod is maturing you can get viable seed at only 75% of total maturing time, if you choose to harvest at this point there are a couple of things to avare of:
Germination rate will be relatively low (I think i read 20% on average)
The embryos might be killed if you try to sterilize them (which you would have to do if you want to use the syringe sowing method..)
And last but not least, the overall time in the flask will be longer when using seeds harvested at this stage (and so will the time to germination).
The optimal time is at 91% of total maturing time:
The germination rate will be far better
The embyos can handle sterilization (=good)
And the total time in the flask will be shorter (and germination will be faster)
Actually you save time in total by waiting...
If you take a look at this page:
http://members.iinet.net.au/~barryg/SPECIES.htm
The average time for dends is around 200 days when greenpoding (didn't do the math), so if your pod is about 6 months old I would think you are getting close to harvesting time!

Thanks! So let me get this straight....Molly is the cat...who is also a rat? Hmmmmm is this cat/rat as bad as MY baby Laya, who jumped down and broke one of my dends today?
Ok...my first attempt at posting a pic. I have POD PICS!!
Where are the pics? Inquiring minds want to know.
Yeah well....that didn't work out so well, now did it? Ok, I'm gonna try again!
ok, POD number 1!!
