    hi,

    finally my ground orchids starting to bloom, just love this spike how it develops and keep on going with blooms up to 2 months.

    Whoa........... that is just gorgeous!! For me, it's a show stopper with that beautiful color.

    I have developed a new found joy in ground orchids. They just always surprise me and make me smile.

    Nice, spathoglottis plicata is very common in India. This colour and a few species with pink and yellow colour.

    Hi Ron ,

    terrific blooms !

    Please tell me what you´ve done for flowering ?

    My bulb had have leaves ,than they shriveled and now the bulb is alone in the pot

    thanks, but im sorry for you plant. hmm, thats unusual for younger shoots to shrivel, for older leaves its normal for it is a semi deciduous plant.
    i only noticed the plant can be in trouble with rotting, if the bulb is too deep in soil, let the top of the bulb just stick out.
    pls take your bulb out and check for rotten parts, clean it and let it dry up in the sun and pot again with less watering the first days.

    other than that, those plants are extremely hardy.

    yes, they come in some stunning colours and the hybrids are fantastic too!
    i was after the yellow species, which is much more rare, finally found one and quit on me due to rotting. it was a tiny baby and didnt have much of a bulb and strength.
