    Default NOID vandaceous species

Some weeks ago I visited a friend from another state and he took me to see a species fancier. Very impressed with his bulbophyllum [including 2 from Papua New Guinea] and phalaenopsis collection. Among his phal were some fantastic varieties of violacea and bellina and a particular plant of Phal amboinensis with a bloom of outstanding shape and colour.

However in this thread I would appreciate any help to identify this noid specie in his collection. He assured me it is a specie he collected himself from the jungle on a a hill near his house in Sungai Siput, Perak, Malaysia. The flower is reddish orange and measures 1" [2.5cm]. Judging from the spur at the base of the lip, the red-orange colour and relatively small flowers it could be an ascocentrum but the area is bit south of the normal asco range. The plant has a rather sprawling growth habit.
