Vanda keikeis growing in basket

I'm slowly cutting away at the black plastic pot my large no name vanda came in. This is the lovely vanda another rvo member gave me. I noticed something odd in the basket a week ago and began trying to free this...these keikei's. I cannot believe that what originally looked like one ended up being three. I had to pull one completely out, in order to free the other two. At least they won't die and end up rotting down there. My friends don't understand why I am constantly fussing over and taking pics of my plants. It's how I find bugs and other problems before they become a disaster.

Goodness, I would have just left that alone. All those orchid root in a mass. Glad you were able to clean it up. I should take a photo of some of my vanda roots and the mess they are now after growing in the same place for 15+ years.

Connie, I imagine how those poor little keikis felt when you released them - I rmember years ago when I wore cute shoes that left my feet feeling just like that!

Bruce - I'm afraid your vanda roots are beyond anything a rational human would take on. I thought of the little maze-like puzzles for children: "Which path will lead out of the forest..." Well, the poor little guy trying to figure that out will die of old age before getting past the first orchid!

Connie its nice to see that your NOID Vanda takes so well to motherhood, but the 'delivery' of triplets is such a hassle. Wouldn't it be easier if the keikei's grew near the end of the root tips? I know tell that to mama Vanda. Connie and Bruce, steel drums anyone? AL
