limp orchid leaves

I am concernd about my orchids. The leaves are nice and green, but limp. The roots are beautiful and plump. I repotted them 3 months ago and trimmed away the dead roots. The first plant to show signs of destress had two leaves wither, turn yellow and fall off. I thought I may be over watering. Now I am waiting longer between watering, at least seven days. I do not have them on a humidity tray. I have shifted them away from the east facing window (they get morning light) to a less bright place, then moved them back thinking more light would be better. I don't know what to try next.

Both dead roots and overwatering can cause this. If your roots are fine I would be suspect of your watering schedule. You said you are watering less often - 7 days or more. How often were you watering before this?
Pictures would be of great benefit. What type of orchids are they?

Would help to have a photo of the orchids in question, but I agree with Don that this sounds like overwatering that caused additional root loss making the plants appear to need more water, but unable to actually take it into their system due to damaged roots.

thanks----actually when I really think about how I was watering, it seems like I would wait over a week, for fear of over watering. The potting soil would be really dry. However being very curious, just now, I removed the potting soil from the worst Philonopsis to see the roots and sure enough quite a few were rotted. I rimmed them off. Then I trimmed the second Philo. but not the third because it isn't as bad. I put them back in the same bark soil, but shifted the bark so they were in dry bark. I had just watered two days ago. Now they are out of the sun, resting and I hope recovering. Since I continue to over water, maybe I should consider growing them in moss on a board.
