From the Greek dilemma, "a dilemma," in allusion to the "two-horned" leaf.
This species is found in the Cordillera del Condor, Ecuador (1800-2000m). Flower size 2cm. Leaf size 15-18cm. I/C grower. A very slow growing species...

Great species! I will grow this one just for the foliage alone too. How do you grow yours, Thomas?
Mine is on stick mount and I keep it almost dry between watering. If I keep it moist(daily watering), the roots and new growths will just die off. A slow grower for me also.
@ Thomas, from that section, I grow perijaensis, portillae, volans var. xanthina, nipterophylla, nitida and few others. I recomend portillae(the leaf looks like green bean as well) and nipterophylla. Pthl. nitida is a great species as well.
Another one I really like although it is not from the same section is Pthl. strupifolia. I also like Myoxanthus cimex(the growths look similar to some species from that section).
These look like they are from another planet! Very interesting how the leaf grows almost like a flower. hmm....
Wow!! Even the leaves are awesome. Very nice.
Amazing blooms. Thanks for sharing.
Love that flower and the foliage!
So amazing. What a cool orchid.
cheers,
