    Default Dendrobium lindleyi?

A question for other Den. lovers although any reply would be appreciated. This is an unidentified plant I picked up last fall. I had thought that it was probably a very small form of lindleyi but now I'm not so sure. I have two lindleyi. One has a pb's and leaves about the same length for a total of about 5". The other is much larger at 6" with the pb being far longer than the leaf. This one has a total leaf/pb length of 1 1/4". I don't think it is a seedling because all the growths are the same size and the two that have grown this year are the same. Also, the pseudo bulbs are flat and red in colour instead of roundish and green. This one was wild collected many years ago. I have two jenkinsii and don't think its that either. Any thoughts?

Possibly jenkinsii? I think they are smaller than lindleyi but look very similar.

Possibly Jason but I have two jenkinsii and they don't really look the same.

It really looks like my jenkinsii with the characteristic stacking of the pseudobulbs.. Even though I believe this could very well be a jenkinsii, I also want to point out that there is a hybrid between jekinsii and lindleyi called Ueang Pheung. I have never seen the hybrid more than on pictures but I would guess that the size of the pseudobulbs are closer in size to lindleyi.

Well, now this has me wondering if the one I posted in February as lindleyi is the hybrid. Might explain why the pseudo bulb's are smaller than the species description and why it only ever has 8-10 flowers on a spike. Perhaps the large lindleyi I got at the same time as this one is the true species.

I think you are right in that assessment. Now you are a lucky owner of Dendrobium lindleyi, jenkinsii and the hybrid between them (too difficult for me to spell again).
