Hola,
Here's a pic of my latest bloomer. Very nice sized bloom on this girl. I've been particularly enamered with this one because of the way it grew off to the side. I've been tempted to stake it, but the way it is slinking off to the side so ups the "creepy" factor, and I love that. You don't think it's in any danger without a stake do you?

You should be ok, if you're careful when handling or watering it. It would be easier to bump it and break the spike without a stake, but I don't think the weight of a single flower will break it on its own.

I think it will look strange if you stake it now. The flower has grown level on this spike, to put it up-right, it will point toward the ceiling and be a bit awkward. JMHO.

I would let it be.

If you want to offer the flower more support, you could use a coat hanger to create a stake that anchors in the pot and curves outward to nearly horizontal. Pretty much in the shape of the flower spike.
